Launched in August 2018, COBALT is a fresh new name in the printing industry. We are highly motivated towards growth and will do what it takes to be strong for our customers’ business. The company was founded as a result of a series of acquisitions of smaller wide format distribution companies across Canada, and of Ernest Green & Son, the largest independent distributor of graphic arts products in Canada. The net result of integrating the various companies together is a wide-ranging knowledge of the total print industry with a real expertise in wide format, commercial offset and flexographic markets. Matching the knowledge of the team is a world class product and service portfolio. COBALT is uniquely positioned to help print service providers take the leap into new technology, materials and different sectors so that they can diversify and grow their business. Stephen Fletcher

President

 
Steve has been involved in software and hardware technology distribution for over 20 years in the Canadian market place and began his career in sales and sales management. He has spent the last 12 years in executive leadership roles including operations, marketing and overall business area responsibility.  He has been involved in the print technology distribution space during the last 6 years and has spent much of that time integrating the companies together that form the foundation of COBALT.

Janet Carmichael

Director Marketing & Operations

 
After graduating from Ryerson University’s Graphics Communications Management Program, Janet joined the printing industry right at the time when artwork became digital and the industry was shifting from craft-based into a highly technical digitally driven process. The first part of her career focused on emerging technology and then she moved into marketing where, for the last 18 years, she worked for wholesale distributors of printing technology and supplies. With over 25 years of experience, Janet is excited by the opportunity to grow and grab some attention with our current suppliers and the great team at COBALT building the company into a leading Canadian distributor in the inkjet, offset and flexo markets.

Roger Parsons

National Sales & Segment Manager - Flexographic & Lithographic Products

 
Roger is a graduate from Rosemount Technology Center where he studied printing technology, following which he worked in the print industry for several years before expanding his horizons into marketing with studies at Concordia University. Roger’s next career move was to apply his technical knowledge in a sales role for an international printing plate manufacturer. His position as Technical Sales Manager is what helped him springboard into printing products distribution, where he’s been for over 30 years. Roger is extremely excited about COBALT and the vision built around the company as it truly embodies his personal values and customer-centric philosophy.

Joe Rothwell

Western Sales and Business Development Manager

 
Joe has spent the last 30 years in the wide format industry, starting in 1988 at Norman Wade Company producing blueprints. Working his way through the company, he spent time on the order desk, running the plotting room and working in the service department before heading out on the road as a sales representative in 1992. His real business education came in 2003 when he started a new company called Phoenix Imaging Calgary that was purchased by Cansel 10 years later. Joe is truly excited to start the next venture in his career and is very proud to be a part of the COBALT Team.

Brad Noel

Eastern Sales and Business Development Manager

 
Brad started his career in a sign shop in Vancouver and then moved into sign supplies distribution with Acme Neon & Plastic Sign Supplies. After some time on the west coast, he relocated back to Ontario with East West Plastics. Brad left for an opportunity to move into sales management with national responsibility with Veritiv Canada. With over 20 years in the industry, building trust and integrity has allowed him the opportunity to be part of COBALT, where he is surrounded by like-minded, knowledgeable people, who are ready to make a difference.
